Year 11 Parents’ Information Evening
We are delighted to invite you to our Year 11 Parents’ Information Evening on Tuesday 29th September, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm in the school hall.
This evening is an important opportunity for us to share key information about the year ahead, outline our expectations, and work together to ensure your child is fully supported during this crucial stage of their education. Year 11 is a pivotal year, with GCSE examinations and post-16 decisions on the horizon, and we know that strong communication between school and home can make a significant difference to student outcomes.
The programme for the evening will include:
- Welcome, Introduction & Key Dates – Mrs Brassington (Principal) will provide an overview of the academic year, highlighting important dates for assessments, mock exams, and final GCSE examinations.
- Year 11 Expectations – Mr Harker (Head of Year) will explain how behaviour, attendance, and engagement directly impact achievement, with a focus on how we monitor progress and support students to meet their targets.
- Subject Updates – Our subject leads will share specific information about the curriculum, assessment plans, and revision priorities for each core subject:
- English – Mrs Robinson
- Maths – Mr Dicker
- Science – Mr Brown
- Revision Techniques & Parental Support – Mr Williams (Senior Teacher) will offer practical strategies for effective revision, time management, and how parents can help create a productive study environment at home.
- Exam Concessions and Arrangements – Miss Daw (Assistant Principal) will explain the process for applying for and implementing exam access arrangements, ensuring all students have the support they need to perform at their best.
- Meet the Staff & Questions – All staff will be available for informal conversations, allowing you to ask questions and discuss any concerns directly.
We strongly encourage all parents and carers to attend, as your involvement plays a vital role in your child’s success. This evening will not only provide you with essential information but also give you the chance to meet the staff who will be guiding and supporting your child throughout the year.
