Exams and Cover Assistant

Start date: April/May 2024

Salary G4 09 to G4 12 (£23,893 to £25,119 pro-rata FTE) Term Time + 1 week during summer holidays + 5 training days (total 40 weeks)

We are seeking to appoint an Exam and Cover Assistant to support our Exams Officer.

The successful candidate will need to be an enthusiastic and hard-working individual. Within the role successful candidates will be involved in:

  • Collecting, processing and checking of exam entry information.
  • Keeping exam access arrangement information up to date.
  • Assisting with the collection of estimated grades and coursework marks from teachers and the distribution of pre-release exam materials to teachers.
  • Assisting on results days, communicating results to students and resolving student; parent and teacher queries.
  • Assisting with the exam timetable and attendance list.
  • Booking and communicating with invigilators.
  • Assisting with parent and student exam communications and absences for exams.
  • Receiving, checking and storing examination scripts.
  • Assisting the Examinations Officer on examination days: preparing examination materials, supporting the Senior Invigilator, packing and despatch of scripts.
  • Deputising for the Examinations Officer where necessary.
  • Assisting with applications for special consideration and post-results queries.
  • Preparing and distributing exam certificates.
  • Assisting with the organisation and running of invigilation feedback, updates and training.
  • Liaising with senior staff and supply agencies to organise cover for absent colleagues.
  • Supporting during the working day for cover needs.

Additional duties:

  • Support the school in its distinctive aims and ethos and to encourage students to follow this example.
  • Participate in induction training, staff review processes and professional development opportunities.
  • Carry out such similar duties as may be required by the Principal/Senior staff, commensurate with the post.
