Dear Parent/Guardian,
RE: ROTARY CHRISTMAS SHOEBOX APPEAL
The Academy has been invited to support the Rotary Club of South Holland’s Shoebox Appeal. We are encouraging each tutor group to prepare a gift shoebox, which will then be donated by the Rotary to a child in need. A list of suitable items is below.
The boxes will be collected on 29th November, in order for them to be delivered by Christmas. I hope that children will be able to find the time to source and donate a range of items. These items can be “pre-loved” second-hand items in good condition.
The gift boxes created for Harvest were really amazing and I am sure pupils will be able to work together again for this worthy cause.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of this event and your child’s participation in it. I hope that they find it an enjoyable and worthwhile activity.
Yours sincerely

University Academy Holbeach opened its doors to families and prospective pupils as it held its annual Open Evening on Thursday 26 September 2024. Parents were able to tour the school during the day to watch pupils learn in their normal environment – an opportunity to enjoy the experience in a truly authentic way. In the evening, pupils and staff welcomed families again to enjoy activities taking place across an impressive array of subject areas – including science experiments in our state of the art Science facility, fun in Music, getting creative in Food Technology and challenges for all in Physical Education. The Principal (Miss Sheila Paige) stated that it was nice to welcome future pupils to the school and thanked the pupils for taking part in presentations.
Parents can find further information regarding the opportunities offered at the academy through its website.
A massive congratulations to Jacob Kelk, our bricklaying apprentice who successfully represented UAH and his employer Allison Homes at a regional Skillbuild qualifier competition held at Moulton College, Northamptonshire. Jacob’s dedication and talent shone through to earn him a 1st place in a highly fought category and it is hoped that his overall score will be enough to see him progress on to the national finals. This success follows on from his recent 2nd place that he obtained in the regional Guild of Bricklayers competition held in Grimsby.
Skillbuild stands as the largest construction competition for apprentices and trainees in the UK, and we all here at UAH take immense pride in Jacob’s achievements and are excited to see all the great things he’ll accomplish in the future.
