Who is this course for?
This course is for any prospective student that is looking develop their skills within the hairdressing industry, or looking to progress into higher level study or employment within the beauty sector.
What will you learn?
The purpose of this qualification is to develop skills in beauty therapy to a high level of occupational ability, to enable the candidate to perform their own salon services
What units will I study?
- Monitor and maintain Health and Safety practice in the salon
- Client care and communication in beauty related industries
- Maintaining personal health and wellbeing
- Provide body massage
- Explore the origins of massage and principles of complementary and alternative medicine
- Apply stone therapy massage
- Provide Indian head massage
- Provide massage using preblended aromatherapy oils
How long is this course?
This level 3 course is one year.
How will I be assessed for this course?
For this subject, students will be assessed through internal formal assessments for both practical and theory knowledge and exams. Building portfolio evidence of documentation to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding.
Students will learn in a supportive classroom environment for their studies. Students will also be able to undertake independent study as part of this course.
What are the entry requirements for this course?
It is desired that students have gained, or working towards, 5 GCSE’s grades 4-9, including English and Maths.
Students must be aged 16-19 to study this course.
What can I go on to do after this course?
From successful completion of this course, students can go on to study another Beauty Therapy qualification such as Level 3 Diplomas or working as a beauty therapist within employment.
