Who is this course for?
This course is for any prospective student that is looking develop their skills within the hairdressing industry, or looking to progress into higher level study within the beauty sector.
What will you learn?
The purpose of this diploma qualification is to develop your skills in beauty therapy to a high level of occupational ability, to enable candidates to perform their own salon service

- Follow Health and Safety practice in the salon

- Provide manicure treatments
- Provide pedicure treatments
- Apply makeup
- Provide eyelash and brow treatments
- Provide facial skin care
- Remove hair using waxing techniques
- Salon reception duties
- Contribute to the effective running of business
- Display stock to promote sales in a salon
- Provide nail art
- Create an image based on a theme within the hair and beauty sector
How long is this course?
This level 2 course is one year.
How will I be assessed for this course?
For this subject, students will be assessed through internal formal assessments for both practical and theory knowledge and exams. Building portfolio evidence of documentation to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding.
Students will learn in a supportive classroom environment for their studies. Students will also be able to undertake independent study as part of this course.
What are the entry requirements for this course?
It is desired that students have gained, or working towards, 5 GCSE’s grades 3-9, including English and Maths.
Students must be aged 16-19 to study this course.
What can I go on to do after this course?
From successful completion of this course, students can go on to study another Beauty Therapy qualification such as Level 3 study, or relevant Level 3 Beauty apprenticeship.
