At the Academy we hope to ensure that ALL young people with English as an Additional Language (EAL) will realise their full potential by achieving and attaining through qualifications and wider learning opportunities.

To support these pupils we have dedicated staff in Student Support: Miss Popple and Mrs Andrews, to discuss any problems pupils may have, help with additional learning and reading material and to hold weekly drop in sessions for pupils to socialise and gain assistance.

The Academy has approximately 50 pupils at any given time who have English as an additional language from countries as diverse as: Bangladesh, Greece, India, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Thailand and Turkey. This enriches the cultural knowledge and appreciation of pupils in our school.
