T-Level Digital Support Services

Our Facilities

Students spend 80% of their time in a classroom environment at UAH. Our well-equipped IT suite of rooms allows students to be taught theory and also engage with our highly trained staff as well as visiting employers. The Commercial Networking Suite focuses on teaching students the intricacies of cabling: all students are given the opportunity to pass their CICSO qualification alongside their T Level.  The Commercial Networking Suite was refitted out solely to deliver the T-Level course in 2021 and has two server racks that form the isolated network with our 17 work stations. The facility allows students to gain hands on experience in designing and implementing network topologies in packet tracer; configuring switches, routers and cabling the hardware.

Uniform

Students are expected to wear navy cargo trousers, a blue polo shirt and a navy jumper as well as their distinctive purple T Level lanyard.

The Course:

All students will develop a general understanding of digital:

  • how digital technologies impact business and market environment
  • the ethical and moral implications of digital technology
  • using data in software design
  • using digital technologies to analyse and solve problems
  • digital environments, including physical, virtual and cloud environments
  • legal and regulatory obligations relating to digital technologies
  • the privacy and confidentiality of personal data
  • the technical, physical and human aspects of internet security
  • planning digital projects
  • testing software, hardware and data
  • digital tools for project management and collaboration

They will also learn about topics specific to digital support services, including:

  • roles within the digital support services sector
  • communication in digital support services
  • fault analysis and problem resolution

In addition to the core content, each student will study the following specialism:

  • network cabling
