STLS (Supporting Teaching & Learning in School)
This qualification will enable you to develop the knowledge and skills needed when supporting teaching and learning in Primary, Secondary or Special schools. It covers a wide range of areas including children and young people’s development, supporting those with disabilities or special educational needs and communication and professional relationships
The qualification will include:
- Child and young person development
- Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people
- Importance of equality, diversity and inclusion
- Communication and professional relationships
- Schools as organisations including policies and procedures
Methods of assessment
The qualification will be assessed by an assessor using a range of methods which may include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, professional discussion, reflective account, oral questioning, written assignments or a task set by CACHE
Progression
- Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools,
- Level 3 Early Years Educator or
- Into the workforce as a Level 1/2 Teaching Assistant
