T-Level Education and Early Years

Who is this course for?

This course is for any prospective student who is looking to obtain a license to practice to level 3 standards and advance their knowledge and skills of working with children for employment or progression to university.

What will you learn?

This qualification is suitable for post-16 students looking to develop both knowledge and practical skills in the education and early years sector. This technical qualification will support students on to a range of progression routes including employment, higher education and higher apprenticeships.

  • Core skill 4 How to assess and manage risks to your own and others’ safety when planning activities

Year 2

  • PO1 Support and promote children’s play, development and early education
  • PO2 Develop relationships with children to facilitate their development
  • PO3 Plan, provide and review care, play and educational opportunities to enable children to progress
  • PO4 Safeguard and promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children
  • PO5 Work in partnership with colleagues, parents, carers and other professionals to support children’s development

How long is this course?

This course is one year.

How will I be assessed for this course?

Year 1 - 2 exams and 1 Controlled assessment (Employer Set Based Project (ESP).

Year 2 - 2 controlled assessments, 3 practical exams in placement and must be observed in placement to meet early years’ competencies (41).

What are the entry requirements for this course?

It is desired that students have gained, or working towards, 5 GCSE's grades 4-9 including Maths and English.

Students must be aged 16-19 to study this course.

What can I go on to do after this course?

This qualification allows a learner to count obtain UCAS points for University in either Education or Healthcare sectors. Additionally, specific job prospectus can include:
