UAH PE hoodies are OPTIONAL and are ONLY to be worn at extra-curricular clubs & Academy fixtures.

We would also ask that parents provide the pupils with a cotton apron for use in practical food lessons in Y7-9 and Y10 and 11 if pupils are studying this at GCSE.

All items should be clearly marked with the pupil’s name.  Pupils who are unable to participate in PE due to illness or injury will be expected to wear their PE Kit with a navy tracksuit to assist the coaching of others and officiating.  We are proud of our Academy uniform and ask parents to ensure that only the uniform as prescribed above is worn by pupils.  Any changes to this list will be notified to parents in writing and by no other means.  If your child says that a change has taken place please check before embarking on needless expense.  This appears to be particularly necessary in the case of trainers, which are not allowed as normal footwear.  We expect pupils to take pride in their appearance and to prepare themselves for the professional world by dressing in a smart manner.

Jewellery and Hair

The wearing of jewellery is prohibited excepted for one small ring and one pair of small ear studs (worn, one in each ear). Pupils must not have jewellery or studs or any facial piercings. We do not feel that it is necessary for pupils to wear make-up, necklaces or bracelets. A large number of colourful hair ornaments are also discouraged.

Pupils must not dye their hair extraordinary colours, more natural colours are acceptable but it is best to check first with the Learning Coordinator.

The decision as to whether something is sensible and adheres to school uniform lies with the Academy.

Changes to Uniform

We are proud of our Academy uniform and ask parents to ensure that, only the uniform listed is worn by pupils. Any changes to this list will be notified to parents in writing. Please check with the school before incurring unnecessary expense.

Trainers are NOT allowed as normal footwear.

Uniform Exchange Scheme

The school would like to make parents aware of the Holbeach Uniform Exchange Scheme organised by the local Methodist church. As well as the cost of uniforms for growing children at a time of an increasing squeeze on purchasing power, it is estimated that 350,000 tonnes of clothing goes to landfill every year; that is 30% of our unwanted clothing. This service aims to reduce waste and support local families. The exchange service is open each Thursday 9.45am-11am  Methodist church building in town on Albert Street, Holbeach for parents to collect and re-use items. The entrance is on Albert Walk and they have a car park available. It’s as simple as that, no enquires about circumstances, no questions asked and it is completely free of charge. This service is available to all in the school community who wish to make use of it. Donations of old or outgrown uniform can also be made, either directly to Methodist Church or brought into the school clearly labelled ‘For the Uniform Exchange’, and the school will arranged for them to be collected.
