We offer CSkills Award levels 1, 2 & 3 Diploma in brickwork, this is recognised throughout the construction industry. All the qualifications are assessed through Practical tests, in-course assessment and end of unit tests.

All our construction courses have English & Maths embedded into them in order to help you gain the relevant level needed to help support you within your career.

CSkills Award Level 1 Diploma in Brickwork

This course helps to prepare you to work safely and with confidence in the construction industry with a focus on bricklaying and block work construction skills.  You will work to recognised industrial standards and will gain the underpinning knowledge and skills to prepare you for a career in the industry.

You will study and will be assessed in the subjects below:

  • Health, safety and welfare in construction and associated industries
  • Knowledge of technical information, quantities and communication with others
  • Knowledge of construction technology
  • Construct block walling
  • Construct brick walling
  • Construct cavity walling
  • Setting out for basic masonry structures
  • Mix construction materials

CSkills Award Level 2 Diploma in Brickwork

This course develops your craft skills to work at recognised industrial standards within the bricklaying trade.  You will learn new masonry, block work and brickwork skills as well as develop those learnt at level 1.  You will gain the underpinning knowledge and skills for a career in industry

At level 2 you will study and be assessed in the following subjects:

  • Health, safety and welfare in construction and associated industries
  • Understanding information, quantities and communication with others
  • Understanding construction technology
  • Set out masonry structures
  • Construct solid walling incorporating isolated and attached piers
  • Construct cavity walling forming masonry structures
  • Construct masonry cladding

CSkills Award Level 3 Diploma in Brickwork

You are now embarking on the advanced course, at the end of which there is no bricklaying job that you cannot take on. On the practical side you will be building models that include circular work, arches, decorative brickwork. You will be studying site management, supervision, chimney and fireplace construction, transferring levels and much more

At level 3 you will study and be assessed in the following subjects:

  • Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction
  • Information, quantity and communication
  • Analysing the construction industry and built environment
  • Repair and maintain masonry structures 
  • Construct chimneys and fireplace structures
  • Construct complex masonry structures
  • Construct decretive features

The courses are for 16 year olds and above who have a keen interest in brickwork and have some evidence of studying at GCSE grade D and above or working at Entry Level 3 literacy and numeracy.

  • Level 1 – 5 A*-E
  • Level 2 – 5 A*-E
  • Level 3 – 5 A*-C including Maths, English and have already completed the Level 2 Technical qualification
