Advice Regarding Coronvirus
25th February 2020
I am writing to you regarding the matter of coronavirus, prompted particularly by today’s announcement regarding those returning from Italy.
I have spoken with Public Health England (PHE) and the Local Authority (LA) for advice. The LA has also been in contact directly with Public Health England. They have given the following website for reference: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/wuhan-novel-coronavirus-information-for-the-public.
We understand that there is specific concern regarding those who have returned from the half-term ski trip to Italy. The school ski trip resided in Bardonecchia which is on the French/Italian border and is not an area of quarantine: Parents and guardians are advised to read the guidance if there are any concerns and, if necessary, to follow the Government’s guidelines and take appropriate medical advice.
It is most important that we ensure and remind children follow general recommendations for preventing the spread of any infection. I attach to this email an advice document from Public Health England, which will be displayed around the School. You are asked to go through this with your children to support the School in enforcing its importance.
I will continue to monitor the situation and seek advice. Should there be any further updates, I will write to you again.
I should like to thank you for your support in this matter.
