T-Levels for Employers

What are T Levels?

T Levels are the Government’s flagship qualification which have been created through careful consultation with business leaders: they have been created by business, for business.

Recognising the skills gap in industry, T Levels aim to address this concern by offering students in depth, class-based theoretical learning, running in conjunction with an industry placement experience. This hybrid approach has proved extremely popular with students and employers alike.

T Levels at University Academy Holbeach

At the University Academy Holbeach (UAH), we have fully embraced this forward-thinking, ground-breaking approach to education. We are now in our second year of our T Level delivery programme and have already made a real difference to the way our students approach the world of work. Students are coached in generic work-based skills, interview techniques, CV writing and problem solving. Several of our year 13 students, who have engaged with reputable local and National organisations, have been already been offered permanent work places with companies when their course finishes. This speaks for itself.

Quick T Level facts:

  • Students take one T Level after GCSEs
  • The T Level course lasts for 2 years
  • One T Level is equivalent to 3 A Levels
  • 80% of the course is delivered in a classroom
  • *20% of the course is delivered through an industry placement
  • The courses are fully endorsed by the Government

*45 days (over 2 years) or 315 hours

Here’s what some of our employers say ...

“We have been working within the T-Level programme for a few years now and have found it a fantastic way of finding young talent. We find engaging with UAH early and running sessions with the students really beneficial. The process has allowed us to find potential new work candidates by a process of work experience, which has provided an invaluable route to young talent.“

(Phil Callow, Director, ARK ICT Solutions Limited)

“UAH took the time to understand our business to ensure that the student who was placed with us not only gained from their experience, but that we also gained from him. In time, he became a helpful member of our team.”

(Mary Dack, Managing Partner, Mossop and Bowser Solicitors)

“It’s a privilege to be part of these students‘ journeys and watch them grow and flourish as each day goes by with us.“

(Andrea James, Talent and Engagement Lead, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn)
